Homemade Vanilla Extract
  1. Slice open the vanilla beans length-wise and place in an air-tight container
  2. Pour vodka over beans, making sure to cover beans entirely (I had to cut my beans in half to get them to fit in the jar–it’s OK to chop them into small pieces if you need to)
  3. Securely fasten lid, and store in a cool, dry, dark place for 2 months. Shake the container one or twice a week.
