Adults who are working on resisting diet culture in 2023 and are looking for a safe space to share, discuss and reflect.
This is not an eating disorder recovery group. You are more than welcome to join if you have a history of an eating disorder, but EDs are not the focus of this group.
This group is facilitated by Jessica Steinbach, MPH, RD, and is limited to a small number of participants.
To support folks who are ready to ditch diet culture for good! Diet culture is insidious and tenacious. It’s everywhere and is especially intense during the New Year season.
6 weekly, hour-long support group sessions that address topics such as:
- Defining and recognizing diet culture
- Strategies for dealing with diet culture
- What to focus on instead of dieting and weight loss
- Strategies for recognizing and dealing with fatphobia
This group is not a replacement for individualized medical, psychological or nutritional care, but rather an addition to individual sessions you may be already attending.
Group takes place virtually on Google Meet (a secure video conference platform).
Tuesdays at 4pm Pacific/5pm Mountain/6pm Central/7pm Eastern starting January 17.
The deadline to sign up is January 11.
